Description: Island C provided gear deployment, transportation and lodging for a research crew of three for twelve weeks at sea over a period of two years (2011 and 2013). The objective of this survey was to provide information on the oceanographic conditions and fish distributions during summer and fall at five inshore sites from Kodiak Island to the Kenai Fjords. The project was part of the Gulf of Alaska Integrated Ecosystem Research Project (commonly referred to as the Gulf of Alaska Project) and was funded by the North Pacific Research Board. During the course of the project we conducted multi-beam acoustical surveys, mid-water and beam trawls, oceanography and support of small boat sampling efforts using purse and beach seines.
